beginning socks on magic loop

WARNING: Sock knitting is addictive! Why you ask? There are many kinds of sock yarns to choose from, they are relatively inexpensive and so portable that you can always have a pair with you to knit. You will be learning to knit socks using the magic loop method, which can also be used for lots of things beyond socks, like sleeves, gloves and more.

cable exploration

This class will give a new twist to your notion of simple cables. Learn techniques such as cabling without a cable needle, reversible cables and winding ropes. You will leave with a firm grasp of the construction of one of the most used and loved knitting embellishments, plus a pattern to create your own masterpiece.

design your own

You too can be a designer! Learn how to use stitch dicitonaries to create your own masterpiece. Barbara Walker's Treasury of Knitting Patterns (a must for any knitter's library) and Vogue Harmony Guides are just two series that show you the possibilites are endless. On our model, the main stitch was taken from one stitch ditionary with the ruffle taken from another. We will cover stitch multiples, adding borders and more.

double knit know-how

Double knitting is the art of knitting a reversible, double layer and double sideded "fabric". The catch...it is all knit simultaneously. Never fear, Emily wrote this simple double knit cowl pattern for the class and will guide you through to the end. It is almost like ending up with two cowls instead of one.

Start your first sweater with top-down construction. Choose from a cardigan or pullover and when finished, it will fit YOU! We will take measurements, knit gauge swatches and talk about shaping and fit.

spectra

The newest creation from Stephen West. "Spectra" is a lightweight scarf made from two skeins of fingering weight yarn...one semi-solid and one self-striping. Short row shaping gives the scarf a curve that makes it comfortable and easy to wear. Best of all, it is so much fun to knit!

the wonder of entrelac

Entrelac is defined as "a knitting technique used to create a textured diamond pattern." We define it as gorgeous! This fun technique is used to create scarves, hats, afghans and even socks. Come learn and you will WOW everyone with your knitting.

toasties

Handwarmers are the 'candy' of knitting! A pair can be knitted in a very short time, anyone can wear them and they are practical for our weather in Tennessee. In this class we will create handwarmers from the bestselling book More Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Participants will learn to knit in the round using the magic loop method, make slanting increases and more. A perfect gift to stuff in a stocking!

your first hat

If you are tired of knitting scarves, this class is for you. You will learn to knit in the round, decrease, use double pointed needles and basic pattern reading. After this class you will be ready for most anything.

* All supplies must be purchased before class. We offer a 10% discount on supplies purchased for class.

* Classes are in Brentwood, TN - we serve all of Middle Tennessee and are located near Franklin and Nashville.
